Legal AI is the second-most-concentrated vertical after healthcare, but with a very different demand shape. Big Law isn't hiring FDEs — they're hiring 2-3 "AI Engineers" per Am Law 50 firm to run procurement of Harvey / Robin / Spellbook + internal pilot work. The volume hiring sits at the vendor side: Harvey, Spellbook, Hebbia, Robin AI, EvenUp, and Eve are collectively running 60+ implementer-shaped roles right now. Median TC tracks 5% below the platform median because the buyer is law firms, not frontier labs, and law-firm budgets discipline cash comp. Equity exposure is meaningfully higher at the vendor side though — three of the top employers are at Series B+ with > $100M raised in the last 18 months.
